Responsible Gaming

This page sets out practical points for thinking about gambling sensibly and states plainly what this site can and cannot do to help someone control it. It does not host any gambling activity itself, so every control a reader might want to use has to be set up somewhere else.

Decide the amount and the limit before you start

Working out what you can afford to lose before you begin, rather than while playing, gives you a fixed reference point instead of a moving target. Treat that amount as already spent the moment you commit it: this removes the temptation to judge each session by whether you are "up" or "down" and replaces it with a simple pass/fail on the budget you set in advance. Chasing a loss by increasing the amount to win back what went before almost always makes the outcome worse, because it abandons the one fixed rule you had. Keeping gambling money separate from money that is borrowed, or needed for other commitments, means a bad run stays contained to the amount you were prepared to lose.

Take breaks and involve someone else early

Stepping away at intervals, rather than playing in one continuous stretch, gives you the chance to notice whether you are still enjoying it or just continuing out of momentum. If gambling stops feeling like entertainment and starts feeling compulsory, that is the point to talk to someone else about it, before the position gets harder to unwind. Raising it early, while it is still a small concern, is easier for everyone than raising it once it has become a large one.

Know what this site cannot switch on for you

Controls such as deposit caps, loss caps, reality checks, cooling-off periods or self-exclusion all belong to an account held with an operator. This site has no account, no form and no server-side application behind it, so nothing published here can switch one of those controls on, check whether it is active, or enforce it. Nobody's age is verified on this site and no gambling takes place on it; any check of that kind happens only at the destination you are redirected to. There is no advertising or behavioural profiling network running on these pages, so nothing here is targeted at a reader based on prior gambling behaviour. The eighteen-and-over restriction is stated on the front page and repeated at the end of every operator listing, and each listing also carries the same reminder to check availability and the current terms at the destination before claiming anything, since eligibility rules and terms sit there and can change without notice.

Find independent help through the links on every page

Every page of this site, including this one, carries links to three independent gambling-help organisations: begambleaware.org, gamblingtherapy.org and gamcare.org.uk. These are the only outbound links on the site that are not commercial: unlike the operator links, they carry no sponsored marking, they are set to nofollow, and they open in a separate tab on the organisations' own websites. This site receives nothing when a reader follows them. Beyond being an independent source of help, nothing further about what each organisation does is described here.
